Grooming Terms & Conditions
While every effort is taken to ensure the safety of you and your pet, Little Companions Mobile Grooming Parlour (Pty) Ltd, agents or partners cannot be held liable for any loss or injury to pets, persons and/or property. With that said you (The Customer and Owner) agrees to the following terms and conditions:
- Aggressive / Difficult Pets
- LC (Little Companions) staff have had experience and success in the grooming of difficult or aggressive pets. However, we reserve the right to halt the grooming process should a pet become too difficult to groom or aggressive to the detriment or potential injury of themselves, or the LC staff. Full or partial grooming charges may apply.
- LC may advise that your pet be seen by a behavioral specialist.
- Please provide LC with any behavioral history to allow our staff to make the best first impression on your pet.
- Please note LC are not able to, and refuse to sedate or tranquilize pets.
- Matted Coats
- The well-being of your pet is of utmost importance to LC, for this reason, severely matted pets, will be shaved to prevent pain and suffering.
- LC as a mobile service does not “strip” or de-matt severely matted pets. This process takes several hours, and can cause major discomfort or pain for your pet.
- By using LC’s services, you grant permission for matted hair to be shaved.
- Severely matted pets will incur additional fees at the discretion of management.
- There is a possible risk of injury for severely matted pets and LC will not be held liable for the injury of any pet.
- It is in your best interest to prevent matting from occurring in the first place and ensure your pets are groomed on a regular basis.
- Illness / Injury
- All pet’s medical history must be disclosed before any service commences. LC reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet that may have any of the following:
- Stitches from any surgery
- Any open or weeping wounds
- Any form of ill health
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Breathing difficulties
- Unusual lethargy
- Any other signs of injury or Illness not yet seen to by a vet
- By using LC’s services, you agree that:
- The pet is fit and healthy. (Grooming of sick or elderly pets is entirely at the owner’s risk).
- Grooming may reveal underlying skin or health problems that we cannot be held liable for.
- The pet is vaccinated and up to date. Unvaccinated pets put themselves and others at risk.
- In the event of serious injury or illness a vet may be called in and all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owner’s expense.
- The groomer and LC will not be held liable or responsible for any mishap caused by a non-disclosure of your pet’s medical condition or behavior.
- While the utmost care is taken of pregnant pets their grooming is entirely at the owner’s risk.
- The safety of your pet is our first priority. All our equipment is designed with safety in mind, and our groomers are trained in handling many situations. However, it is impossible to 100% guarantee the safety of all pets – from jumpy dogs to sharp objects anything can happen. Although very low, there are risks associated with grooming which the owner must accept. Little Companions cannot be held liable for any loss or injury incurred in such cases.
- Complaints / Alterations
- If any minor alterations need to be done please don’t hesitate to ask the groomers onsite. If we need to return for alterations additional costs may be charged.
- Complaints need to be taken up with management within 24 hours after appointment.
- Ticks and Fleas
- Pets will be checked for ticks and/or fleas during our pre-grooming process and we will advise proper treatment. Any products used will incur additional costs.
- Severe cases of ticks and/or fleas must be brought to the attention of management prior to grooming.
- You will be advised on how to best treat your pet and your home environment to eradicate the problem. Prevention is better than cure in the case of ticks and fleas.
- Marketing
- LC will occasionally film/photograph your pets. These photos are used for reference in future grooming sessions or for Little Companions website, social media and any marketing purposes.
General Terms and Conditions:
- Payments
- We accept cash, zapper, credit/debit cards and EFT payments. Credit/Debit card payments must be requested and arranged with management. EFT payments must be made prior to appointment date.
- Failure to make payment on time will result in late payment fees, interest and may result in an impaired credit record, with multiple registered credit bureaus.
- By using LC’s services, you agree to being personally liable for all collection fees, late payment fees, interest and legal fees.
- Pricing
- Prices given are based on Little Companions best judgement on the information presented.
- LC reserves the right to adjust pricing in accordance to the condition, type and size of pet. In such a case where the pet requires more work than anticipated.
- LC reserves the right to charge an additional fee for severely matted pets in addition to pricing displayed.
- Prices are available on the website and therefore you acknowledge that additional fees may be incurred.
- Prices are subject to change, without the notification of the Customer.
- Operating hours
- Our hours of operations are Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. Saturdays from 7:30am – 3:30pm.
- On weekdays, our first appointments start from 8am. Last appointments no later than 4pm, unless otherwise agreed.
- As a mobile service Little Companions operates on an ETA system rather than a strict appointment system, unless otherwise agreed. This is because of various delays such as major traffic, unforeseen pet circumstances or difficult dogs that need a little extra time.
- If the grooming team is majorly delayed from grooming a pet, unless otherwise agreed, LC reserves the right to charge an additional R100 for every 30min delay to cover our costs.
- LC reserves the right to reschedule or terminate appointments that are over 15 minutes late.
- Booking Reservations
- Booking reservations are best made in advance, as we cannot guarantee an immediate appointment.
- 24 hours’ notice must be given before cancelling an appointment, failing which we reserve the right to charge a small Cancelation Fee of R100 to cover various costs.
